Even though the county planning commission had already denied the request, it still had to come before the county commission. The request was heard by the county commission at our last meeting. The requested rezone was again unanimously denied.

Oddly, the day of the meeting, a robo call went out to certain areas of the county encouraging people to attend the commission meeting. Several people who received the call showed up to the meeting in opposition to the quarry. It is unknown who was responsible for making the robo calls.

Bottom line is, the rezone for the quarry was denied and it's my guess that any quarry requests in the county will be denied in the future
